The use of a comparative approach to estimate the value of motor yachts assumes the presence of
similar objects to the research object. Similar objects in terms of characteristics, as a rule, differ from the object of
research. There is a need to adjust the cost of similar objects taking into account the difference in characteristics with
the research object. The cost of analogue objects also depends on the power, and thus the cost, of the main engines
of analogue objects. Therefore, the problem of adjusting the power of the engines of similar objects when estimating
the cost of a motor yacht is relevant. The purpose of the study is to develop methodological recommendations for the
practical use of statistical laws inherent in motor yachts to adjust the power and, accordingly, the cost of the main
engine of a similar motor yacht relative to the parameters of the yacht that is the object of the study. The purpose
of the study is achieved by using the admiralty coefficient. Methodological recommendations for adjusting the cost
and power of the main engines of analog motor yachts are implemented by a variant method depending on the
set of known characteristics of analog objects and the significance of the discrepancy between the characteristics of
analog objects and the characteristics of the research object. In addition to general scientific methods of research –
comparison, analysis and synthesis, statistical methods of data processing and a method of estimating the power of
the yacht’s main engines using the admiralty coefficient were used in the study. As the main result of the research,
the work provides recommendations for adjusting the power of the main engines of motor yachts, which are chosen
as analogues for evaluating the cost of the research object. Recommendations are built on the basis of processing
with statistical methods the characteristics of new motor yachts that are offered for sale. In the work, it is proposed
to calculate the statistical characteristics of motor yachts depending on the overall dimensions of the yacht and the
cubic module, calculated based on the overall dimensions of the motor yacht, because for the monetary evaluation of
a motor yacht when choosing a similar yacht relative to the research object, the overall dimensions of the yacht are
more often known than the length and width along the waterline. Based on the fact that for motor yachts the authors
of the article statistically proved a reliable relationship between the displacement of the yacht and the cubic module,
the cubic module of the yacht was chosen instead of the displacement. Adjustment of the power of the main engines
of a motor yacht is carried out using the admiralty coefficient, the calculation of which has certain features. For the
admiralty coefficient, the statistical dependence on the maximum speed of the motor yacht, the cubic modulus of the
yacht, the conditional Froude number and the material of the hull is proposed in the paper. To adjust the power of the
main engines of a motor yacht, the conventional Froude number proposed by the authors, calculated depending on
the overall length of the yacht, is used. A number of situational options for adjusting the power of the main engines
of a motor yacht are considered, depending on the availability of specification data for a similar vessel. The scientific
novelty of the results obtained in the work consists in the improvement of the existing proportional method of
adjusting the power of the main engines and the cost of similar vessels by using the admiralty coefficient. For the first
time, it was proposed to use the cubic modulus and conditional Froude number, calculated according to the overall
characteristics of motor yachts, to estimate the cost of motor yachts. The proposed methodical recommendations for
adjusting the power of the main engines of a motor yacht can be useful for experts who evaluate motor yachts using
a comparative approach.
