PROBLEM ISSUES AND PECULIARITIES OF IMPROVISED FIREARMS RESEARCH

Abstract

The features of the study of improvised firearms, which are due to some elements of its design, are considered. The essence of the concept of improvised firearms is clarified. The methods of its manufacture are singled out. They are: independent production of all elements and parts of weapons; the use of individual elements and parts of manufactured weapons; making inevitable changes to the design of manufactured firearms with the provision of new qualities to it, which often lead to changes in its functionality and ballistic characteristics – for example, sawn-off shotguns; making inevitable changes to the design of pellet guns-gas, signal, pneumatic, structurally similar to weapons products, etc., which lead to changes in its target purpose; and independent manufactured weapons assembly from the elements and parts. Problem issues of improvised firearms research are illustrated on the practical examples.
