PROBLEMATIC ISSUES THAT ARISE DURING THE DETERMINATION OF THE VEHICLES SPEED BEFORE COLLISION

Abstract

The problems and their possible solutions, which arise during investigations of the mechanism and circumstances of road accidents, while determining vehicles speed before collision, are highlighted. The basic methods of determination of vehicles' speed in the course of road traffic accidents research, used in expert practice are systematized. The author specifies their content, provides with details of their advantages, disadvantages and their application (in combination with other methods or on their own), outlines some modern methods and tools for assessing the speed of vehicles. The relevance of using complex approach while determining the speed of vehicles with the use of modern technologies and the latest equipment is emphasized. It is proved that the practical realization of the abovementioned points will have a positive impact on the quality of forensic motor vehicle expertise and will contribute to improving the road safety system.
