Abstract

The author reviews some aspects of the establishment of fingerprint registration and highlights its current state. The experience of some countries in usage of world's biometric information is generalized in the article, the necessity of introducing obligatory fingerprinting of the population of Ukraine in order to provide an adequate level of protection of the state and society in modern conditions is grounded as well. The problems of legal regulation of fingerprinting of certain citizens' categories are described. The prospects for improving the legislation of Ukraine, in particular, regarding the establishment of the Obligatory Dactyloscopy Institute, are also outlined.
